DHEA or DHEAS (Dehydroepiandrosterone): One of the most important elements in the human body that helps you to balance the following body functions:
• Vitality and more energy
• Extend life expectancy and improve mood
• Slowing down the aging process
• Increased resistance
• Reduce the harmful effects of stress
• Reduction of body fat
• Weight control
• Increase sexual desire
What is DHEA?
DHEAS (dehydroepiandrosterone) is a hormone that is produced in the adrenal gland and is most common in the human bloodstream. It is produced by the adrenal gland. From the age of 7, our body naturally begins to produce this hormone. During the late teenage years the DHEA level in the blood reached its highest value, from the 25th year of life the DHEA level began to decrease. The DHEA level drops about 20% per decade. At around 80 years of age, we reach the lowest level of DHEA in the blood, around 10% of the original maximum.
In the 1960s, French physicist Etienne Emile Baulieu, M.D., discovered the anti-aging properties of DHEA. In a recent study by endocrinologist Samuel Yen, M.D., at the University of California, San Diego, 30 men and women aged 40-70 years were given DHEA supplements for six months. The test subjects felt much better mentally and physically and also had less pain.
C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D. explained that DHEA plays an important role in the immune system, it is a building block for sexual and other hormones and regulates well-being and mood. DHEA deficiency occurs during every major illness, including obesity, diabetes, hypertension, cancer, various immune deficiencies, coronary artery disease, and autoimmune diseases.
DHEA is an actual basic or key hormone that gets directly from the outer layer of the adrenal glands into the blood and thus into cells and organs. It serves as the raw material for the formation of a large number of other hormones with a clearly definable spectrum of activity - such as the male sex hormone testosterone and the female counterpart estrogen.
This explains the diverse effects of DHEA. Because the process of aging and the associated decrease in performance and slowdown of almost all processes in the human organism are largely due to hormones: the less hormones the body releases, the more the somatic processes slow down and the more susceptible the organism generally becomes on disruptive influences.
If, on the other hand, the basic hormone DHEA is produced or supplied in sufficient quantity, there is sufficient "raw material" for the production of the hormones which are essential for controlling the body balance, which leads to stimulation of the whole organism. This manifests itself in many people in the fact that they feel significantly younger, have more physical and mental energy and recover faster from health problems.
Incidentally, this is a phenomenon that has always been known in sports medicine: a young, well-trained body is restored faster after illness or accident than an old and more relaxed one. Incidentally, this also coincides with the statement made by individual DHEA consumers about illnesses and accidents: the medication worked better and the dosage could be reduced; the ability of the entire organism to regenerate was significantly better.
Why should you take DHEA?
The main advantages are:
• An important and rapid increase in energy level and vitality that occurs in 82% of women and 67% of men after a few weeks of use (according to a study by the University of San Diego, California).
• A stimulation of the immune system, which increases resistance to diseases. Better coping with stress.
• Modulation of the other hormone functions, which leads to a reduction in the symptoms of menopause and andropause.
Which scientific studies support this statement?
In short, more than a thousand studies have been done. They show, without exception, that vitality and well-being are increased, the immune system is strengthened, the symptoms of menopause are reduced, and osteoporosis is counteracted; it improves neurological functions, memory and sleep quality.
A large number of incomplete studies show that a DHEA supplement has a positive effect on the body's response to tumors, circulatory diseases, diabetes, systemic lupus erythematosus and Alzheimer's. These studies are intended to confirm the hypothesis, based on the endocrinological theory of aging: many degenerative and dysfunctional disorders
